A Pioneering Spirit
Seventy years ago, E.L. Bruce was faced with a dilemma - termites in his hardwood flooring products. Realizing that he was not alone in his fight against termites, and in an effort to solve his own pest problems, he founded Terminix International in 1927 and earned the first U.S. patent for a termite control procedure. From a small start- up company, Terminix grew to be the largest termite and pest control company in the world, safeguarding over 1.9 million homes and businesses in 45 U.S. States and Internationally against all types of pests.
Terminix employs the most technologically advanced methods for securing against pests like termites, mice, roaches, ants, and fleas. We even guarantee our services to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Our industry knowledge, expertise, and willingness to customize services to meet our customers specific needs have earned us a reputation as a highly respected and trusted company.
From Fledgling to Industry Leader
Although founded solely as a termite protection company, when it was acquired in 1969 by Ned Cook, Terminix expanded to offer general pest control as well as termite control to residential, commercial, and industrial establishments. For decades, our team of skilled entomologists have studied all types of insects to ensure that our customers have the most complete protection from infestation.
In 1986, Terminix was purchased by The ServiceMaster Company, one of the country's largest and most successful service companies. ServiceMaster introduced Terminix to its diverse Quality Service Network, a group that includes such partners as TruGreen-ChemLawn, American Home Shield, Merry Maids, and ServiceMaster Residential and Commercial Services. Each company is a leader in its industry and contributes to ServiceMaster's system-wide revenue, which is in excess of $4 billion.
A Philosophy To Live By
As a member of the ServiceMaster team, Terminix believes in exceeding expectations. From ensuring customer satisfaction to developing strong relationships with our ServiceMaster associates, we are committed to delivering more than what is required of us, with the distinction expected of a true leader. Our company-wide philosophy comprises four objectives by which we strictly abide: to honor God in all we do, to help people develop, to pursue
excellence, and to grow profitably. Together, these objectives form a foundation upon which our entire service is built.
Even though Terminix is now the largest termite and pest control company in the world, with a network of over 500 service centers, our mission has remained unchanged. We strive to enhance our leadership position in market share, service quality and technological development.
